IN MEMORY OF CHRIS LORENZO

by Cathy L.

In less than one hour it will be the one year anniversary of a Classic
Silk tragedy. In dedication of our fallen friend, a tribute . . .

He was the greatest hero who ever lived . . .
                        Sergeant Chris Lorenzo
Died in the Line of Duty
                          December the Tenth
                    Nineteen Hundred and Ninety Five

He was a detective unlike any before
His wit and his charm cracked many a case
With the love of his partner, best friend, and wife
No tragedy can his memory replace
He infiltrated evil with an actor's poise
Fighting at the line, but always coming back
He risked his pride in the name of justice
In the Name of Love, he braved all attacks
He feigned shallow on the surface with a hollow heart
But inside hid a soul of incredible fashion
Whether reading Rita to sleep, or pacing in the ER
Every "Lorenzo Smile" echoed life and compassion
He died defending his one True Love
In an end befitting, yet haunting still
His last words: "I won't leave you"
In our memories, he never will.
