This is a poem that I wrote..I thought it was related to C&R so here goes...

WALL

We were always best friends.
Never did we think about what might happen.
And if we knew, do you think we still would have gone through all the pain?

We were always there for each other.
And you always had a shoulder for me to cry on.

We worked through the day and the dead bodies tried to haunt us,
though we never noticed them through our friendship.
We had a wall to stop them from getting to us.
I was the your wall and you were mine;
To stop them.

Slowly, as our other loves dissolved,
we realized that we were still together and maybe;
just maybe, We should always be side by side.

You were my wall and I was yours;
To stop them.

Weeks went by.
We thought they didn't know but now, thinking back,
I'm sure they did.

Now I have your child.
Every time I see him I think of you;
your smile, your eyes, your love.
As I sit here and cry, I wonder why it had to happen the way it did.
Through all those years we never knew the love we shared and when we
found each other we were torn apart.

I still see the man's eyes.  Bright blues eyes that shone through his
mask.
I hear your voice as you dived down to block the shot.
I hear the gun and I hear you cry.
Where was the wall?

Now I must leave with this child and stop the bodies from haunting us.
We had a wall to stop them.
But I wasn't there to help you and now you can't help me;
Stop them.
